Are Americans as outraged and disgusted as I am at such inhumanity?
This is what Senator Jeff Merkley Saw at an Immigrant Detention Center for Children: “The tiniest kid at the front of the line, he was knee-high to a grasshopper. He was 4, maybe 5 years old.” And they live in cages with concrete floors in Trump's "great" America.
And now, the treasonous groper is blaming Democrats for the policy! LYING SACK OF FECES!
Australia's concentration camps for refugees are worse.
YES!! I have been OUTRAGED at BOTH parts of Congress for DECADES! OVER PAID, RACIST, SEXIST old fucking white men (for the most part) that should have been replaced DECADES ago....they do not care about you and I, just their own interests a.k.a. 'Swiss bank accounts'...
I will not comment on the right or wrong of this. That's obvious. What I will say is that this is how you incubate, and grow hard-core revolutionaries and terrorists. These children will never forget these days.
That's what history teaches us, but many politicians are comfortable with their own ignorance.
Senator Merkley (D-OR) was finally provided a tour of the facility here in town that houses once accompanied children who have been separated from their parents or guardian by ICE.
Keeping children in cages when they are not criminals making them sleep on concrete floor for months at a time without due process because #45 has reduced legal funding resources for these children causing gridlock in the courts which requires they remain longer in these private, yet paid for by tax dollars facilities. This is done merely as a punishment. Is this who we are now as a nation?
Previously the children would remain with their parent until they were to appear in court. #45 and Sessions flipped the process so now they end up incarcerated in the beginning as a means of punishment.
Since Senator Merkley could not take pictures this is similar to the scene that Senator Jim McGovern saw in another facility.

The makeup of that processing center is shocking when you see it, but let me go to the heart of the issue. The issue is this new policy of, when families are seeking asylum, their children are torn away from them and sent who knows where. The parents are beside themselves not knowing what happened to their kids, and they never know if they’ll see them again. The kids are going through the second version of trauma. Families seeking asylum have by definition experienced trauma abroad, and perhaps trauma en route. So finally they get to the border, and they think “finally, we’re safe.” But instead they’re put into this prison-like facility, and separated, and put through this new drama.
I’ll tell you what was very difficult to see. One room had smaller cyclone fences—they look like the way you construct a dog kennel. They’re larger, but that’s the thought that comes to mind when you see them. Then they have these space blankets [light foil blankets], which is a very strange sight, to see kids using a space blanket as a cushion—but they don’t provide any cushion—or as a cover for privacy. There’re no mattresses in that section.
After they go through interviews, they go into a big warehouse. I called them cages, and the White House said that’s unfair, they aren’t cages. Well, call it a cell, then. It’s a cyclone-fence-constructed area. There were all these boys in this big enclosure, maybe three to four dozen boys, and they lined up, from smallest to largest, to get ready to go eat. The tiniest kid at the front of the line, he was knee-high to a grasshopper; he was 4, maybe 5 years old. They go up to age 16 or 17.
