"You must be a very lonely man, Jaime." "I am," he replied.
"But i am the only one to blame for that. Actually, loneliness has a kind of fascination for me; it's a state of egotistical inner grace, that you can achieve only by standing ground on old forgotten roads no one travels anymore."
So what do you think of how Jaime saw his reality?
Loneliness is bad for the heart (literally)
Loneliness? What's that? I love being alone, and have been single since 2010, to my vast relief. I don't mind being around people for a while, then I want to leave.
Cant agree in regard to the (albeit figurative) location, though its a poetic sentiment- Loneliness can be felt anywhere and everywhere. We are loneliest when separated from those we love, and this can be beyond our personal control.
My loneliest times have been when i have been in relationships which were unravelling. When alone, i have never been lonely. Ironic. LOL
This resonates with me. I have a huge amount of friends and yet year by year I find myself separating from most of them. It has something to do with rejecting all the preconceived notions that society pushes on us. Everything from being an atheist to rejecting the idea of marriage to spending more than you earn. I'm a self-contained unit that's pretty happy being a self-contained unit. It's a personal journey that I have no idea where it's leading to.
When I was younger I use to think I was lonely, but as I aged I realized it was actually at a kind of cross road where my mind couldn't decide which way to turn so it was a mental paralysis. I also found that the easiest way to short circuit that state of mind is to physically exhaust myself ..... so I would go for a 20 km run. At the end of it I'd know exactly what I need to do and I would feel amazing because the endorphins were released and Id be high as a kite )) So these days, I love and look forward to that feeling of loneliness as I know something amazing is about to follow it.
Without having read your source, I suspect he was speaking of the satisfaction one can obtain by creating one's own .... balance? morality? Based on his perception of ethics, what was grand and inspiring about the past...
No one else might understand, for this universe is formed solely from the history of the individual.
I can relate to that. Not 100% certain why.
I caused my loneliness, and yet my ego has me standing my ground on the other side of bridges I burned.... Can't say I'm fascinated by it though. I'd say it consumes me.
I hope you continue to grow, expand your universe, find the original you in you.
