Greatest country song of all time. David Alan Coe! You don't have to call me darlin! I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison. And I went to pick her up in the rain! But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got runned over by a damned old train!
Egads if you're not familiar with David Alan Coe ...
He's basically a KKK member posing (back then) as a country western singer. He does one of those acts where they do all the antagonistic idea songs that get drunk crowds riled up ... like at college town bars. Many of the song titles can't even be repeated here. Among the most infamous was a song sung by a white man whose wife had left him for a back man.
The worlds greatest country song is a good one though. even a blind squirrel sometimes ...
Aw man...I did NOT want to know that... Maybe someone will do a good cover of it.
I'm a metal fan and not into country but I do like the one where he says " She's got a dog that don't bite and a roof that don't leak." I'd marry her hahahaha
If more country songs were like this, I wouldn't cringe when one comes on the radio.
Perfect Country and Western Song - I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
I love the old joke:
What happens when you play a country song backwards?
A guy gets his job back, his truck back, his dog back, his trailer back and his woman back.
Paul McCartney dies?
