Hey singles, are you comfortable going to a nice restaurant or a movie/play alone?
Totally comfortable attending any event by myself.
Yes. At first I took a book to restaurants, but now I just people watch.
If there is no one to go with then what do you do? You're still hungry and want to enjoy the latest movie. You look like a sore thumb everywhere and some people give you the eye as if we are a sex predator or whatnot. Eventually numbness takes over and then you do all those things alone and it doesn't hurt no more
I go to movies by myself so I can pick exactly the movie I want to see
I can handle a fast food joint by myself but not a real restaurant.
I've gone to movies alone, but I find going to plays or restaurants alone is too depressing for me. I know how to enjoy my own company and bla bla bla, but it doesn't always work.
I do it all the time. It was a bit uncomfortable at first, but hey what are the other options? I'm not single, married but I mind as well be single. We don't do anything together anyway. I go to concerts by myself a lot. Going to see Peter Frampton next Monday, and Roger Hodgson in July. Lifes' too short to just sit on your hands, and wait for your Cinderella to come. Plus maybe I'll meet someone who has a great idea to get me out of this mess!
Because of my job I mostly watch movies on airplanes and cruise ships. I dine alone quite often and enjoy it. When I go out with my friends they're staring at their phones anyway.
That's just bad people and people who don't live in the present. Inattentiveness to someone in front of you is not polite. Imo
I don't often go to movies or plays alone, but I have a few times. I go to nice restaurants alone often enough. The problem is I'm cheap. Why go to a movie when I can watch it at home and pause it when I need to.
That's me! Let me find the book instead.
I go to the movies by myself a lot (thanks to Moviepass.) Went twice just this weekend! There are a few bands I like coming to town in July and August that I'm planning to see, most likely alone. I used to go to restaurants by myself years ago, but now I'd rather get takeout and eat at home with a book or the TV.
