Any older experienced atheists around here have any life advice for a young man entering into the new year?
Don't get married unless you are 100% happy being alone. Relationships do not bring happiness.
Don't be a dick
...and... don't be a pussy too!
yes gods a pile of shit
Holy fuck! My dogs make Gods!
Whoa!
they do lol
I recommend being a de facto atheist rather than an idealistic one. I was going to say don't be an evangelical atheist, but @rabbibubba beat me to it.
My advice?. Try not to f#@% up, if you do, try not to f#@% next year up. Rinse and repeat...
Continue to seek advice Always found myself hanging around older guys; as the oldest of 4, I’d always wanted an older brother. I found them eager to give advice, and I used it.
If you’re seeking advice about being an Atheist … hold your ground, and often your tongue.. Silence often speaks louder than rants. Choose friends well, not always the one’s introducing you to wild & crazy stuff, they’re not always right - but those like yourself ... the ones that when you’re hanging out together, the girls can’t take their eyes off any of you. Good friends will last a lifetime.
Look for the good in others, it’s even within the worst of them. Take your time to react or respond to what shakes you; knee-jerk or passionate responses are hard to control (though often kickass accurate). Move slow in love, if everything’s there, and it’s right - it’s not going anywhere soon, without you.
View life as a cycle, and remain aware of your place in it. Also, attempt to view it from a woman’s perspective, then appreciate how close theirs is to your own. The world is not hurting for humans, so don’t feel obligated to add more, until or unless you feel compelled, that’s when it should happen. ...enough?
Just be yourself. Don't worry what others think of your beliefs or non-beliefs.
