So far today, I've seen two commercials for the "Creation Museum", and three for the "Ark Encounter".
That these "attractions" are being put forward as even remotely factual is appalling to me.
What's worse is that there really are people who believe all that bullshit.
If I lived anywhere near either of them, I'd be out front, every day, with signs telling people they're paying to be lied to. I'd also probably have done jail time for that by now.

That ark thing failed i thought

It's failing, but it's still open.

Just check the funding for these farces.

I know! It pisses me off to no end.

we did lots of the funding and that should not have been done

since getting told by some lismorons (stupid people living in my new hometown of lismore) on fakebook that it is rude to address your landlord in an open fashion, let alone expect consideration & fair play in tenancy matters, because people who own homes are worth more than non-home-owners ... nothing these days surprises me any more.
in my book anything religious belongs into the stark-raving-mad box without a doubt.

I agree with you fully. I've seen no commercials for them in Missouri so far. The Ark is a big lie and would never have worked in the first place. How in the hell are you going to have a Creation Museum? What would be in there? Leftovers from the Ark maybe.

My skin crawls every time I see those commercials. That's what happens when people don't pay taxes for the education of the populace. As was once said in the Simpsons "Religion has no place in school, just like Facts have no place in organized religion."

...and why does that turn me on.. 😉

WTF are you watching that ‘those’ are the commercial sponsors?

In the land of make believe, apparently, if you ‘believe’ hard enough - it becomes true! And in the land of democracy.. if you convince enough people to proclaim the same BS as you - you win!

Hey, you’d have company ~

The programming I watch has nothing to do with the commercials that
get run.

And I'd stand right there with you!

Why oh why did they omit sasquatch?

On the other side of that coin, there are idiots like this.
This is the short version of her ridiculous rant.
Don't forget to read the comments. 😉

I really hope I never meet this pathetic excuse for a human.

I know numerous people whose bucket lists include these sites. I used to try to talk them out of it but they became very defensive. I might as well have been talking to an empty room.

I believe there is a contingency of atheists who semi-regularly "visit" the Ark Encounter and ruffle their feathers. You can see them on YouTube. It's pretty funny. If you watch those vids, you clearly get the notion that the AE won't be around too much longer; attendance appears to be rather low.

You mean humans and dinosaurs didn't live together?? Shut my mouth!!!

They did. But then came Outback Steakhouse.

Where are you seeing these advertisements?

I've seen them on CNN, HGTV, and several other cable outlets.

@KKGator
Commericals. One of several reasons we don't do TV.

@bigpawbullets Commercials really don't bother me. I can usually
find something to do during the breaks.

Hey! Those stories are true! I saw the ark in a movie with Russell Crowe, and don't think such a good actor could lie to us!

LOL

We should organise an Agnostic.com day trip where we all go en masse to one of those 🙂

@VictoriaNotes Andrew L. Seidel, from the FFRF, has toured the AE. The video is posted on his Facebook page. It's hilarious. Ken Ham hates him so much.

@VictoriaNotes I have. It's wonderfully hilarious!!!

@VictoriaNotes I love this 🙂

No way! I wouldn't do that. What if Zeus fulminates us with his lightning bolts of fury..... Oh, wait. Zeus had nothing to do with the ark, didn't he?

Ah Georgia. Dang. Condolences!

Actually, both are in Kentucky.
Georgia's bad, but it's not THAT bad.

@KKGator I meant you live in Georgia. You're seeing commercials in Georgia for that stuff.

The worst I get is the Hartford Diocese running a commercial for priests.

@RobLawrence That was precisely my thought when I saw the commercial a few months ago.

Thankfully it hasn't repeated. It must have been the local channel.
