The NHS is wonderful. Yesterday I had surgery to my toes and foot under general anaesthetic and I must say the whole experience was superb. I arrived at Central Middx Hosp at 7am and was operated on by 11am and in the recovery room by 1pm. The staff were very kind helpful knowledgable and caring. The hospital was spaciously light and airy and spotlessly clean. I was discharged by 5pm and escorted all the way down to my waiting car. I will continue to fight and attend protest to keep our wonderful N.H.S
Glad you had that opportunity and good outcome.
In the states, many here would just suffer. Late night adds for straps, braces, pain drugs, and joint supports etc. are common as surgery is not within the fiscal ability of many Americans.
The adds are symptomatic of one of the many fallacies of the US system.
Were better, affordable, health care available, then US productivity would rise, thanks to a fitter, less stressed population.
Also, of course, there would be fewer medical charlatans.
