Not everyone who claims discrimination is overstating their case.
Not everyone who claims discrimination is themselves discriminating. And even if that were true, what would be the relevance? Unfair discrimination against any random person "A" is wrong even if "A" themselves is discriminating against "B".
Possibly more to the point, if "B" is discriminating against "A" then it's wrong even if "A" is discriminating against "B" as well.
