Living in a Catholic country where being heterosexual and hyper-cisgendered is the aesthetic and where you don´t yet speak the language can suck at times with trying to make new friends. The work continues!
Sorry about that!
It would help if you write a profile listing your hobbies and interests to give people a bit of a background, and to see what you have in common with them.
Take some lessons and learn some street spanish, you will get by until you learn more Espanol. Lots of people are interested in practicing their English on you in Mexico, so learn to give and take, you help them and they help you - Presto, you're communicating.
@MilanMichaels The latin machismo can be a drag for anyone who has sensibilities that are 21st century. Being a lesbian in latin america can be like a trip back in time from what I have seen, being a gay male can even be dangerous. Watch your back but don't let it keep you from enjoying your life in latin countries, there are places you can let down your hair and no doubt you have already found them.
