So, my great nephew will be staying with me for the next month or so, he is fifteen years old and lies a lot. Should I ignore it or call him out on it? It is nothing significant or life altering but by does he tell some whoppers like the squirrel came and sat on his lap while out riding my bike, that kind of thing.

So long as it's stuff like the squirrel sat on my lap, cool, maybe even play along. Ask which squirrel and once he points to a squirrel, give it a name. Something like, "Oh yeah, that's Eddy. He joins me for coffee sometimes." Obviously darker contexts should be treated differently and hopefully he's clear on the distinctions.
