Ugh this is sickening. I think now that I can speak and understand Spanish and live with Spanish speaking family....it makes this way more human and personal to me. I think, it's easier for people when they don't speak a language to dehumanize people and not relate as easily. Though, I think the helplessness and fear come through the audio without knowledge of the language. This hits close to home for me....

Other is bad. That's the way to incite the uneducated.
Seeing someone as 'other' makes it easier to dehumanize them. Makes it easier to call them "murderers and rapists" , "animals" , to say they come from "shithole countries" or that they're going to "infest" America (everything in quotations are directly from tRump) . It makes it easier to rip families apart like we did to Native Americans, to slaves and to Japanese Americans.
