When I was in school for photography I discovered my professor was quite against gay rights and thought we just needed to meet someone good in bed and get some mental help. So. When the self portrait project came up I decided to make it gay and controversial. The image title was 'gay and proud
I got an A
And a new professor.
It boggles my mind how there can be narrow-minded people in the arts.
How did you get a new professor? Switch classes before the project was due or did his reaction somehow get him fired? Either way kudos!
He dropped me as his student. We had problems with a photo I did previously of two men kissing. Then this one he was being a weiner and dropped me. My new professor loved me so it was perfect.
It's his job to grade based off of objective standards? I do t see how a professor could drop student! Mad props about ouzhijg the subject. Hugs
That's pretty gay! Lol. But seriously good for you.
Beautiful image and an inspirational story behind it.
I love your photo and your attitude. You are right in being who you are. I do not understand anyone who feels it is their duty to monitor another person's life. And keep on kissing whomever you want to
Nice pic. I had cool photo teachers. Learned alot
Just curious, which came first, the "A" or the new teacher?
Oh, and good job.
Hell yeah, don’t people like him push you around. Great photo too! I like the broad lighting and the colors.
I'm pleased you were judged on the quality of your work, not your sexuality.
That IS a good photograph. And the body paint looks awesome! How long does it actually take to get an area that size done? Do you have to stand for a few hours whilst it's applied?
It took about an hour. And it was all eyeshadow so it was quite easy to come on and off and didn't smudge. It was lovely.
@Peeves
Ah,I see, okay. That's very cool! ? I've just read the 'missing' bit of the story: clearly he was still in the wrong. And what was that nuts reason about your boob lol?! There's no more of it visible in that picture than if you were wearing a low-ish cut top! Weird..
@EdMalarkey right! It was very weird and very unprofessional. I'm glad he dropped me was his student but it was alarming because I didn't doubt his abilities until someone told me. Then it all made sense.
This seems like an interesting story that is missing details. How did you get a new professor? Did he/she just up and quit - sensing things wouldn't go his/her way? Was there a struggle? Did the same professor give you the A, or was it someone else?
Sorry. There is more to the story. He failed me first because of a previous photo with two men kissing. So I reported him(after rbeing advised to do so). He marked it for quality not content and I got an A. Then this photo was submitted after and he wouldn't mark it because of my boob. (Even though nudity wasn't ever a restriction) so he dropped me as a student but a different professor picked me up pretty quick. Then I got an A by my new professor.
