I don't post this to belittle those that are "believers". It is mainly aimed at those that really believe that Atheists don't have any morals, or care for others.
I posted this on facebook thinking that I was going to get a lot of shit from many people. But to my surprize, I got a lot of great feedback. It was great to find out that most of my friends supported me and gave me praise for sticking to what I believe, or not believe. So I just had to share this meme.
I rape and murder exactly as many people as I want to, that number happens to be zero and I wish more believers had my atheistic morality.
Love that-!!! You should sell T- Shirts-!!! Id buy one. ...Where I work most of the people are devout Christians, cross necklaces, the god t shirts, talking about church, etc. One person that I couldnt drive home one day got angry,so spread the rumor that I don't believe in god. They began harassing me to no end. One in particular made a point of sitting by me often to go on about jesus and anything related nonstop, and even told me that they were offended and told me that I was going to hell.I mentioned to one woman who happens to be a slut, that your beliefs don't make you a good person, your actions do,and pointed out that all of the good christians in the building had a criminal history,or were sleeping with or having kids with people they werent married to,using or selling drugs, smoking and drinking - which destroys gods temple,etc.,etc. Yet me,the Atheist who lives like a nun, has done none of those things. They calmed down after that.
Is that'A' an official logo, I like it.
yes it is. I'm not sure how it was made, or who made it but I do love it. I have a bunch of shirts that have that symbol on it. It's kind of a sweet thing in that it really is not known by theists am I've noticed that that the religious folk don't have a clue to what that symbol actually means. Which I find rather funny.
Yeah, but atheists can be assholes too. And being a "good" person doesn't require altruism either.
Great! I, too, have received respect (I think) from Christians who are convinced I am doing what I think is right. However, (to be picky) I have trouble with the line above saying "I set my own standards and I alone enforce them." To me this seems as whimsical as saying "God sets the standards and enforces them." I prefer to think of ethical standards as being objective--like mathematical standards--and independent of what may be truly or mistakenly believed about them. I think this view is more consistent with the preceding statement, viz., "I do these things because I know them to be right." Cheers!
