I have more religious books than many religious individual as I enjoy using logic to dispute the premises they put forth. It is kind of like playing a game of scrabble for me. So many of their points are just plain fabrications. I ask if all these events were taking place why hasn't anyone of the period written about them, There were plenty of scholars at that time who could have recorded history in the making yet no one writes of jesus in the time period he was suppost to have lived..
So very true. Sometimes I think making someone read the Bible cover to cover is the best way to convert them, lol.
Soooo true. I read cover to cover three times, and at least once was a chronological order version which was enlightening.
Omg! I just had this argument! Why is it we atheists have likely read not only the bible, but other texts as well?! Anyone else also familiar with the Qu'ran, the Vedas, or the Sutras? Too funny!
Oh, and I've been told multiple times today I'm damned and going to hell... Success!!
@SteveB I must admit I'm disappointed that reading Harry Potter doesn't turn one into a witch or wizard.
I could never have read the bible cover to cover. A few pages and I was bored stupid.
Yah I was the same. Zzzzzzzz
Of course these days I fall asleep even reading books that I like.
Took prison time (over 30 yrs ago) to get me to read the whole thing. Since then it has been certain passages as a reference or a rebuttal source. I recently tried reading the "Book of Mormon". What didn't bore me to tears made me laugh until I cried!!!
Ironically, I was forced to by my grandmother because she felt I needed Jesus. Little did she know she'd set me on the road to perdition.
In more than a few cases it is littered with "bibles" from many different religions that have been read cover to cover.
Its how i left religion for logic i know that lol
