Until I joined this group I didn't realise how the pernicious strain of Christianity is gnawing away at USA. Its very medieval in its rousing for crusade, but without the academic research into itself. Even Cromwell's puritanism had a rationale i.e.dispense with Rome! What we see from viewing outside of the country are some pretty clever get rich quick artists i.e Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland et al. preying on the vulnerable. I thought they were a bad joke. Now I see the reality and it is very disturbing,

Christianity has been a leading force in the U.S.A., but I see its strength slowing weakening. Yes by far it is a fantastic business but their armies are weak and will not fight when pushed.

Not sure I agree with you entirely. I think that many rise in the name of christianity who ar really just trying to put a name to justify their prejudices, whatever they may be. This allows them to "follow" the "Trump" Make America Great Again vision without having to fess up tp their real agendas. just my opinion
I've conversed with a number of people since the Trumpocalypse, mostly UK, Canada and Australia / New Zealand plus a few Europeans, who are astounded at the influence of the religious right in the US as they hadn't seen it very clearly until now. Heck, many Americans are in denial. I was among those in fact who thought we had reached some kind of tipping-point and that liberal, egalitarian sentiments were winning out inexorably. How wrong I was!
One of the very few constants I thought was left in my life was the basic structure of America and the American dream. But I'm going to die in a very different country than I was born into.
It's a real bummer.

No where near as pernicious as the current crusade of "quiet conquest" being waged by Islam in the West. The ideology of Islam mandates the subversion of democracies and the establishment of a global caliphate. This is to be pursued using any means available, including violence, deception, migration and accelerated reproduction. The well-being of Islam's followers and of humanity itself is not a consideration of the ideology.
