I have a question for all you music lovers out there: Do you have a favorite song? If so, why?
Let It Be. I had a crappy childhood and that song made me feel better.
I'm the opposite. I can't listen to any song if it was played in my house. Songs take back to certain places and my childhood was full of dark ones.
Paul just discussed that song on james Corden drive along..watch it
Wish you were Hear Pink Floyd. Great song.
I don't know if I'd pick it #1 but that's definitely in my top 5.
This tune was played at my son's funeral in celebration of his life and music. He was lead guitar in his own rock band. They played a number of gigs in Miami before he died of medical malpractice at age 27. So I have mixed feelings about the tune but I love it anyway.
The first time I heard the album, I was 16 and listening to it on my boyfriends expensive stereo. He wasn't there at the time and we had turned it up loud. I had also just smoked a joint. Well, I thought we had blown his speakers. I freaked out until the guitar started playing. My friend got a laugh out of it.
‘A change is gonna come’, Sam Cooke.
...... no,..... wait,..... Nina Simone, ‘I wish I knew how good it would feel to be free’.
...... actually no,.... hang on..... ‘I’d wait for life’ by Take That,..... no no,..... sorry,.... erm,..... ‘Try a little Tenderness’ Otis Reading,.... I mean, no, that’s not it,.... it’s got to be Gerry & the Pacemaker’s ‘you’ll never walk alone’.
Oooo, ooo, no,..... Joe Cocker,..... ‘you are so beautiful’.....Yes, that’s it.
Oh,.... actually, I forgot about ‘Blackbird’ by the Beatles,...... no,.. no, no, Michael Jackson, ‘Billy Jean’ so good, yeh, that’s definitely my favourite....
Bugger,.... forgot about Bohemian Rhapsody......
Love your comment...and song choices.
No one claims Bohemian Rhapsody as their favorite until the song comes on and you're compelled to belt it out at the top of your lungs.
My short list would still be way over than 100 songs. There is no way I could pick. Plus the ones I favor to listen to change along with my mood.
So many - too many-one of my up songs -Love Shack
I saw them perform this live on the lawn of the Biltmore mansion. Great party song.

@clmartin I still am..
Really depends on my mood. Currently listening to
At the end of a long day, this song has a soothing and almost melancholy quality. This is the classic work that ""Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" was based on. I do enjoy Rachmaninoff's works.
I had no idea. Thanks for the info
Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band. I was in High School when that song came out. And I had the CD, I was sharing it with friends before it become popular. I'll always love it.
I was a young, poor, college student on a first date with a girl out of my league. As luck would have it, my old clunker VW Rabbit broke down on the side of the road on the way to the restaurant. Needless to say I was dejected and embarrassed. She made me feel so much more comfortable by sitting in the car with me and we both sang Bruce Springsteen songs to each other while waiting for the tow truck to arrive. I will never forget her kindness or this song - “For You”.
Vindicated by Dashboard Confessional is my jam. I am forced to violently scream the lyrics alone in my car during rush hour traffic.
I am a rocker, so this song is a guilty pleasure.
Love is the Answer. Todd Rundgren. I love England Dan and John Ford Coleys versión. I want it played when they spread my ashes in the Gunnison River at the black canyon. Colorado. Peace
My favorite is also by Todd Rundgren. Hello it's Me.
I like several different songs for different reasons but my all time favorite is Todd Rundgren's Hello it's Me. It's hard to put my finger on why, though. It's really a bittersweet little song.
Todd is my favorite musicians. He is a genius and has helped rock and rolls sound. Peace
That's one of my favorites. So is his, I saw the light.
It's almost impossible for me to have a favorite song, but I guess the song that would come closest might be Billy Joel's "Summer, Highland Falls". I just relate. It's a manic bass line in the left hand just like how life has ups and downs and the piano melody in the right hand is also kind of manic but it's nice, and it talks about relationships with others or even just a lover and being individuals and still trying to find a balance with differences. When I was younger, I thought the name of this song was Sadness or Euphoria lol
Summer, Highland Falls - Billy Joel
They say that these are not the best of times
But they're the only times I've ever known
And I believe there is a time for meditation
In cathedrals of our own
Now I have seen that sad surrender in my lover's eyes
I can only stand apart and sympathize
For we are always what our situations hand us
Its either sadness or euphoria
So we'll argue and we'll compromise
And realize that nothing's ever changed
For all our mutual experience
Our separate conclusions are the same
Now we are forced to recognize our inhumanity
A reason coexists with our insanity
Though we choose between reality and madness
Its either sadness or euphoria
How thoughtlessly we dissipate our energies
Perhaps we don't fulfill each other's fantasies
And as we stand upon the ledges of our lives with our respective similarities
Its either sadness or euphoria
I've never heard this song before. Going to add to my playlist. Thanks
My favourite song right now is called twice by Christina Aguilera it's such a heart felt tune
Don't have a favorite but this one always makes me sing.
I'm 'folkie' rock 'n' roll; with a bit of country. There are too many great songs out there in music land. So I'll try to recall: 1. We Are The Lonely - John Prine. 2. Just One Time - Mark Knopfler / Chet Atkins. 3. The Pubs Of Ireland - The High Kings. https:// If I could delve deeper I probably could change my mind and recall something greater. But this'll do for now. I hope some of you people could give a listen to the songs by these singers. My favourite 10 songs are about at 1000 by now. Best I could manage right now.
Having taught myself piano in 3rd grade and playing saxophone throughout school. And playing professional off and on afterwards, I just can't be tied to just one favorite tune. But I did play a piano solo at state contest in my senior year. I was rated #1 Superior by a 3 judge panel for playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
I guess that Roy Clark's "Thank God and Greyhound She's Gone" would have to rate up there. Lol
