Why do people say they believe in and love god so they can go to Heaven? If I love someone, I love them unselfishly. I love them for who they are, for the sake of loving them. Not so I get something out of it. Either you you love for unselfish reasons, or you do not love at all.

Their god tells them to love and obey or they'll be tortured forever. Not really a "free choice" deal.
Luckily, it's all nonsense anyway.
