Hello. Well, celibacy sucks, but bad relationships are worse. My husband died 5 years ago, and although I still am in love with him, I need to live, while I am still living. No Trump supporters will be considered, no matter how handsome or charming. 60+ and laid back personality. I am an old hippie, an aging beauty (heavy on the aging, LOL). I play the piano and love to cook. Is there anybody out there? Sometimes the aloneness is overwhelming.
I just walked away from a 20 year relationship a few months ago,it's hard this starting over at our age...and yeah the aloneness is the worse!
I had a terrible day. I got served with divorce papers today. Kinda numb right now.
My condolences to you for your loss, that must be devastating. Please know that, as one who has grieved the loss of love and loved ones that I have found the process to be incredibly personal, and it takes as long as it takes. You grieve because you loved him. Also know that, as someone who has been in more than a few bad relationships, that even though I'm at my current age, and even though I miss sex and being in requited love, I have finally come around to the conviction that I deserve a HEALTHY, AFFIRMING love relationship, and that until that happens, I am better off having a relationship with myself and treating myself with respect and care. I think the best way to find somebody out there is to engage in the activities you enjoy and find rewarding. At the very least you'll find others who share your interests. Also consider therapy if you feel you're stuck in your grief. It will never end entirely, but you can learn how to manage it. Good luck to you.
Good luck in your quest. I too am a widow as I lost my husband eight years ago. I am a very young 73 I mean in mind, the looks are pretty good too i don't mind saying. I‘ve had more than a few admirers over the past few years and my friends are always trying to get me “fixed-up” but unless there is a spark then it’s not going to happen. I have loads of girlfriends and have a variety of interests and above all I have my independence. I think I am lucky in that I can genuinely say that I never feel lonely as I enjoy my own company, but am still really outgoing when I’m with other people. Maybe today will be your lucky day, being an optimist will keep you happy. by the way I’m an even older “rock chick”!
Hi, Jamc, and welcome to the website,
By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve so here is some information that might be helpful for dating here.
New members are encouraged to earn website points, and help other members get to know them better, by writing an informational profile that includes their hobbies and interests, and answering all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member.
You've already done a lot of this.
The website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match.
People make comments and write their own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two someone can private email people. There are different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.
To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters.
Or click on the "About" button at the top of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial.

Levels are mostly a way to help identify and reward those who contribute to the growth of the community. The website also gives more access and benefits depending on level.[agnostic.com]

Well, I'm interested, being an old hippie myself, but live very far away. Talking is good, though. I looked at your profile, and it seems we have a lot in common. Sorry, but I'm having trouble knowing what to say. I much prefer talking in person.
You are lucky to have had one great love. I have been divorced for 3 years and compared to my marriage, celibacy is the ONLY thing that sucks!
