Once told somone I was atheist when they inquired, and they said I think this way becuase I’m young. Following that “logic” how old should one be for their thoughts to matter.

It's how older people dismiss younger people due to being too disrespectful towards the young to listen to their ideas and too afraid to think about anything that might challenge their entrenched opinions and beliefs. I was often told that I would become politically far less radical as I got older, but I'm further left now than I was 25 years ago.

If I ever become like that, I hereby give anyone under the age of 40 permission to shoot me on the spot.

Probably around 72 and three quarters. At around that age we probably discover that our thoughts have been irrelevant anyway!

At that age, when judgy people don’t like what you say, they say you must be senile!

I always joked that the churches were always full of old people because they were getting worried there mite be some sort of god after all lol

I once assisted a dying woman who was a “non-believer “. During her last days she became terrified and I asked her what she was afraid of. She said, (at age 100!), “what if I was wrong? what’s going to happen to me?!!” Nothing I said would sway her from this idea, poor woman. She did not die peacefully.
We all need to get clear on what we truly believe inside and be okay with it , hopefully way before we die.

I'm thinking that when a person realizes that Santa is not real it is an appropriate age. Some people simply never grow out of the God beliefs.

...and I've never grown out of Santa! You're probably right. My thoughts are still absurd and nonsense.

Also, most people I meet think I’m older than I am. What’s up with that? One teacher in my freshman year even though I was a senior.
