I am an Activist in the Resistance movement, a throwback to my grandparents involvement in social activism. How many of you are stepping up to the plate to push back against the Trump Regime?
I did a lot of activism when I was young (teens), with my parents. I am not as active now, other than letters and petitions and donations - I inherited my mom's arthtic issues, so being mobilized is more difficult (they were in their 40s in the 60s; I'm now in my late 60's)
I've been to every local protest, written scores of letters to editors and my representatives, signed hundreds of petitions and give what I can to ACLU, FFRF and others. It feels GREAT to take part in demonstrations, doesn't it? I'm looking forward to more--because I think it's going to take a long time to fix this mess.
I should. I have a lot to lose. And yet between depression, narcolepsy, and chronic pain, it's next to impossible.
Absolutely. By that, I mean I haven't changed anything just for Trump. I have been an alternative energy and transportation guy since Junior High, 45 year ago, when research meant going to the library, going volume by volume through the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature, and filing out buckslips. I commute by bike, usually displaying an American Flag. My latest win was discuions with City Council Member Kieth Powers on normalizing electric bikes in New York City with view toward getting at least some cars (specially Uber trucks) off of Manhattan streets. I always felt that having an issue is worthless if you don't do anything with it. My novel SCAPEGOATS: The Goat Protocols has the goats putting together a combined air pollution/global warming strategy. (Scapegoat is now on Amazon!)
Since I'm living in Thailand, all I can do is protest online, but kudos to you for resisting Trump.
By the way, if you answer the profile questions and write your profile, you'll earn points, and members can get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own earns more points; at level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.
The website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match.
Also many women prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find compatible partners.

You have my respect for standing tall. In your state, you are not alone.
I live in a black (religiously controlled Republican cauldron of destruction and despair) state. The sentiment of myself and most I know is to turn off the media and wait for the inevitable apocalypse with a faint hope that reason will rise from the ashes of what little civilization remains after the Trump plutocracy.
A conclusion I’ve both held back, and lacked the eloquence to adequately describe … thank you
