Donald Trump's great grandfather was an unaccompanied German minor. Is it not ironic that if Trump's immigration policies had been in effect throughout most of our history, most of our ancestors (including his great grandfather)who immigrated to the USA to escape lack of economic opportunity, discrimination, and imminent danger would not have been allowed into the country. Most of us would not have been born American and our history would be as rich and accomplished as it has been. In that light the anti-immigrant sentiment of Trump and the Republican Party seems Un-American, does it not?
The Republican administrations seem to have always been more interested in lining their own pocket than being helpful to the American public.
I would agree that is true of the modern Republican Party. I think that it was a more constructive force in the mid 19th century, but has devolved into today's corrupt and morally bankrupt party of greed, glorification of a false past, aggressive nationalism and moral turpitude.
