Anyone's watching 2018 FIFA World Cup? I love soccer, and to watch the best teems play against each other, is just awesome.

I am an aussie who is not at all interested in cricket or football. I have very few anglo friends/ aquaintances, so consequently, am happily engaged in soccer through many other nationalities that live around me. This has been a different spectacle to me with Sep Blather and others not around. I am tossing up between learning more about the game, so enjoying it more, and how much influenced it is with a fresher commitee. Have to say Neymar from Brazil? has eventually been pulled up for his antics, none to soon. I can see it getting more intense, fierce and agressive as the stronger teams emerge. I don't know enough about it to predict an outcome, but England is looking pretty strong. We are fortunate in having a good coverage by sbs/0/28 since Optus coverage waned. Commentators are Lucy Zelic and Craig Foster, both of whom have done a magnificent job in difficult circumstances, particularly Lucy Zelic who has been criticised fairly harshly for, of all things, incorrect pronunciation of players names, and what some see as 'nepotism'. I took to social media to remind naysayers that she was probably better qualified than many others as her father and 2 brothers were strong supporters of the game and to remind them that 'nepotism' is not just a priviledge of females. I am unashamedly following this as, for me, the game is about egalitarianism, particularly as it is so often referred to as the world game, and also respectfully for John Warren and Les Murray. Enjoy the outcome, whatever it may be, and let's hope it isn't mired in controversy.

I'm only paying attention and watching highlights. Football, either one, was always much more fun when my view came from the field.

I wasn't able to watch any this year, but I made sure to pick up a copy of FIFA '15 about a week ago in true "that guy" fashion.

I don't have TV but I do watch the highlights every day. It's the only time I follow the sport is during WC time for the men and the women.

I enjoy the games when I take time to watch them. I prefer teams from the Americas. Brazil is my favorite of the moment

Great game today between columbia and england. Columbia has been kicking ass, i was alittle upset when they lost. but it was a great game

Colombian players have already started to receive death threats

I had always love soccer but no sports channels for me so I have to watch at my work out gym... the favorites seem eliminated but I have to admit some of the match ups have been boring which I can’t believe I’m saying but Mexico and France are still alive so thats good

I hate to tell you this - not really I’m glad to point this out - but Brazil shut out Mexico yesterday 2 - 0. It’s lose and go home rounds now.

Any time I watch England play, I jinx them. I was listening to the cricket and saw on my news feed that they were 1-0 up in extra time when the cricket finished, so I decided to listen to the final whistle and enjoy the presenters' excitement when, of course, Colombia equalised. I turned the radio off until it was all over and England had won. I know if I'd watched or listened they would have lost.

I have no interest in watching ANY sports activities at all. If I can do it, and I enjoy it, I will do it, but do not watch it being done by someone else. I do look to see who wins or loses at times but it has no affect on me in any way.

I kind of agree I rarely see any sports and I don’t carry them in my package... espn charges way to much with Fox right behind

@Millerski25 I don't have cable or satellite and only have OTA antenna, but I hate commercial TV and will only watch some interesting PBS programs. My TV viewing is on YouTube and other Internet sites that I consider worth my time. Your mileage may vary.

England just went through on a penalty shoot out.

England Colombia got rather ugly there for awhile. Not an England fan but glad they won, Colombia was really terrible with their actions, but England wasn’t much better.

they were a bit childish with the falling down and throwing up their arms like " did u see what he did??"

I'm being forced to listen to it via the neighbours.

I'm hoping that the team opposing my own country will win. I'm an anti-patriot.

Well they are going to a shootout with Colombia right now
