So, I have a relative that is a friend on FB, his mom was my cousin. Can't choose who you're related to. I knew he was a conservative.... Usually he makes snarky remarks on some of my posts. So, devil got into me tonight, and I took look on his page. This was the first thing I saw. Jeebus Christopher, we have some serious issues in the US... Fire away!
Said it before... If I could go back in time.... columbus would had been known as a one voyage explorer that never returned.
Columbus was brutal, evil, and the worst thing to ever happen to the indigenous peoples.
Put down your drink.
Stupidity has become a world wide mental illness. Were in serious do do!
Immigration was welcomed as a way to build a nation until the people already here got all racist.
Not many people speak Apache.
American culture is a blend of lovable mutts that we are.
And there is so much wrong with that painting I can't even.
I know right! It just amazes me how doltish this cousin is. His grandfather, my beloved uncle must be devastated.
Yeah, the hazards of allowing relatives on your fb friends list. I try hard to reserve it for people I can talk politics and religion to. Try, I say. Some head-scratchers will always slip through. This site and friction like your 2nd cousin are why I now am on this site much more than Facebook. I realize politics varies here, too, but it seems much less stupidly vitriolic than it often is on fb.
I hope you’ve officially unfriended him!
No, but I think he blocked me. I just checked out his page out of morbid curiosity. My cousin seemed to have an identity shift in HS. Hormones and rebellion, she married several times and had lots of kids. Like she had a lobotomy. I remember the happy free spirit she was in our youth. So much potential, so tragically wasted. Besides, it is good to know how others are thinking, or not thinking...
I am still mesmerized by the things I read. I have read things that have said that history always repeats itself and that have said it doesn't repeat but it sure does rhyme. One of the things that I still think about is that critical thinking is also not taught in college.
