I've noticed this last week before the 4th of July there are a lot less fireworks going off than in previous years in my neighborhood. It's great for the cats, but I wonder if the underlying cause may be that people just don't feel they have money to spend on something that just burns up, when they are strapped financially.

I am curious if anyone else has noticed differences in the number of fireworks going off in their part of the country.

I think it is more likely due to more adults being busy working this year than in MANY YEARS because our president has effected so many improvements to the economy. More people are working by far and minority employment figures are 'off the charts', never so high. In fact, there are now more job openings in our country than qualified people to fill them.

Who's got time to be prematurely playing with fireworks?

Perhaps it is based in patriotism instead of financial difficulties?
