I read some recent figures that in 26 states of US (mostly Southern)
the death rate is higher than the birth rate for Whites.
It seems to explain the paranoia about immigrants, I haven't read recently any science around this area but there are questions which need answers , how do populations transmit changes. EG. after wars were lots of males die , europe WW1, how did male birth rates rise.
statistical journal article about ratios of sexes after wars
why would that explain "paranoia about immigrants"?
These people see people "like them" dying off and their children having less children. Then they see some POC in the grocery store with 4 or 5 kids. Since their worldview is really limited in scope, they reason that "immigrants" are taking all the resources. They don't realise the very people they vote into office are the ones making life harder for them. They simply see what's in front of them and believe what their leaders(who have their hands deep in these folks pockets) tell them.
@TheAstroChuck thats why I said I wanted to see his explanation
@Bobby9 its my observation, as someone who grew up with and lives with these people.
@Bobby9 poorly educated white people in the south.
@Bobby9 What does that have to do with the conversation? I'm confused.
@Bobby9 that's an entirely separate issue. Let's take for example my "Uncle Jim". Had 4 kids, all of whom went to college, got jobs and only one of whom had kids. Uncle Jim has 2 grandkids but us disappointed that he doesn't have more.
When he goes to Wal-Mart and sees some Guatemalan lady with 4 kids, he's jealous. His kids have told him one of the reasons they decided to remain childfree is because its not financially feasible for them.
Why is it, he wonders, that this poor woman can afford kids but his kids can't? The lady must be on welfare!
Is uncle Jims assessment of the situation simplistic? Does it ignore a hundred other factors? Yes but he's looking at the limited data he has and drawing conclusions.
Uncle Jim is a composite character of many folks I know. It's a common story. These people are sad and angry that their kids have to move so far away for decent jobs, that they have few if any grandkids, that sending their kids to college like they were told ultimimately meant that they "lost" their families.(this has a lot to do with these folks ire against higher learning and academia) Immigrants make a convenient target for them to blame that doesn't tax their brains with too many variables.
Fear of a Non White Planet.... well, is coming... by its own doing white man is marked for extintion... the way of the dodo. Natural selection of the spicies. At the end will save this planet.
So for any category you'd expect that in a stable population the death rate and the birth rate would be about the same. Not exactly the same in all place and all times but about the same. So in about half the states the death rate would be a little higher and about half the states the birth rate would be a little higher. It may be that's all there is to it. 26 states is around half the total.
However you've picked an interesting category. "Whites" So if a white man like me has two children with his wife then that's a sustainable birth rate. However if his wife happens to not be white then how would you classify his children. do we still have paranoia about mixed race relationships or have we grown out to that nonsense yet?
To answer your second question, I'm not aware that male birth rates did rise after the world wars. I would have expected the population balance to even out as the generation with the missing men aged and made a less significant contribution to the total.

@TheAstroChuck. Not to be a jerk but white people are absolutely not native to the Americas. Just because we've been here awhile doesnt make us less of an invasive species.
There have always been more women than men. Nature assures it in a number of ways besides the foolish stunts and violence associated with too much testosterone.
I've told one of my grandson's countless times when he shouts-out a "Hey Grandpa, watch this!", on his bike, at the pool or on his scooter, with 'Dustin, that is why girls live longer'.
As far as the Southern USA population goes, people with African ancestry are in abundance and the majority in many places. They have more children than other groups except possibly Latinos. Both groups would over-shadow the 'white' population. So be it. It's America. As long as the people of ANY race are here legally and love this country, who cares?
America isn't a race or religion. It is an idea and an ingenious one at that.
I seem to have poked your racism with a stick.
With respect to more males than females: here is the map.
Of course the death rate is higher than the birthrate. There is a falling birth rate in most Western countries. In the US you have alsorts of additional problems such as gun crime and poor health care which results in increasing deaths, especially across certain groups. Sadly, in addition you have problems with poor diet, large number of RTAs and access to opiod prescription pain relief and street drugs. In some countries such as Italy and New Zealand the fall in the birth rate is actually becoming national problems. Basically we are living longer and are having fewer babies. I believe statistically, the birth rate in Italy is actually less than 1 live birth per household. This is a natural result of countries becoming wealthier, safer (overall) and educating women. Obviously the flip side of this is we have a lot more older and potentially dependant people. History has shown over and over again that population controls do not work. So leave well alone and look after the people sharing the world with you today.
And if you actually ask women it is because many cannot afford to have a child or more than one child or our careers take too to be established and then there is the obvious motherhood gap in wages for women that choose to have kids to contend with, that men do not have to deal with. The economy for millenials is way different than it was for boomers and that will play a huge role in child rearing decisions.
Very neat but not accurate, what about the connection between changes and a birth gender rate .
Far too simple a response I don't see safer being very widespread in the west RTA's have never been lower in the west India has a very high level of RTA. appalling diet, high poverty ,a dreadful caste system very poor health service you name it yet they have a very population. I know they are not west just a line drawn in the sand I have been listening to the goons.
@demifeministgal deeply insulting I dealt with all those decisions always a mistake to get snippy and lose your focus.
@ian290744 India has a huge birth rate. They do not have access to the same levels of birth control and having many children (particularly sons) is linked to manliness. India hasn't really had an established caste system since the 1930s, however a class system with Anglo/Indians firmly established amongst the higher eschelons certainly exists. In fact Indian birthrate amongst its middle classes is falling. The key is simple, educate and empower girls, provide free contraception.
@ian290744, @demifeministgal I don't need to ask women, I am one. I am also a Mum and I understand all the problems about being a mother and holding down a career.
The graph would suggest falling birthrates (live births per 1000) across much of the western world.
@TheAstroChuck Indeed
@ian290744 get snippy? lose focus? WTF are you talking about? Unless you know every woman's end goal should be to be a broodmare then no there is no lack of focus here.
@ian290744 also my example would be rooted specifically in north america and why women are smartly abstaining from having kids. I cannot speak for the reasons and socioeconomic and cultural reasons the birth rate is high in India.
