Kurt has used such language to make a point. In his eulogy for Isaac Asimov, he joked that, "he must be in heaven now."
The true test of "morality" is what we do when no reward is offered, and/or it creates personal discomfort for us. That's why we never use "thoughts and prayers." It's imperative for us that help is proffered.
