Over the past several days I have noticed fewer intelligent and/or serious posts. What is going on? Are more people just posting junk just to boost their scores? Or, has the growing multiplicity of groups on this site limiting the intelligence of our dialogue in the open posts. Why do people in some of their groups want to hide their dialogue from the overall population on this site?

I don't hate them. I just don't think most of them are worth responding to.
Agnosticism is a Fantastic Study which many people who are on this website aren't really interested in. There seems to be selected groups who converse among themselves and you have to be part of that group to be able to comment. I know that there are people who have cut my posts off and I could care less. Others spurt off rude retorts and get offended very easily. If you cannot explain yourself in a polite manner or take offense to something then don't read it or move on. I always try to explain my reasoning or contribute rather than Argue.

Sometimes people aren't looking for answers to the Deep questions they're just looking for companionship and a sense of community a connection if you will I personally just enjoy communicating and feeling a connection to other human beings it doesn't have to be about anything important

Frankly, I find the humor here intelligent and delightful. There are several ''serious'' discussions but you have to look for them. Have you joined a group? Sorry if you're offended.

I am not offended. I do enjoy humor of many sorts. I did join two groups, because of a shared interest, but not as an attempt to hide my opinions from others who might disagree. In the 9 months on this site, I have responded to several thousand posts. Many days I do find intelligent, thoughtful, humorous, aesthetic, and caring posts I do respond to.
I don't know about you but "Letters From The Front Line" are highly intellectual to me! ?

Thank you juju. A lot of people didn't get the severity of our situation after we crossed the red hat lines to secure the Red Hen combat area. We are thankful that the citizens of Red Hen could provide us with provisions and light reading material. General Obama rode into camp the next morning and treated our ears, hearts and minds to a speech that used correct grammar and complete sentences. We are now fully sustained and ready for the next skirmish. Word from the front is that this battle will last long into November.
That’s what I’m talking about. A well thought-out paragraph demonstrating knowledge of current events using subtle humor and sarcasm. In these times we need a good laugh now and then to stay sane and productive. That was no fluff.
Right now I am so burned out by news, drama, crisis in my country that I feel anxiety a good deal of the time. I think that to take a break and put out something silly or fun has become a stress reliever. I have seen lots of very serious questions posed in posts and people responding to them. I also enjoy the various groups that are specific to one thing. We need this eclectic mix or our heads are going to explode

Most of the time, I find thoughtful, interesting, and caring posts I do wish to respond to. It's just that they have been scarce over a several day span.
@wordywalt yeah but we need light hearted ironic stuff as sometimes the more serious posts get mean, nasty trolls. I just can't do that right now

My favorite colors are dark blue, forest green. I also really enjoy the burnt orange of ripe milo heads in a farm field. That is interesting and not trivial.
And.... exactly what have you contributed? I ask because I've not seen (as others have stated) the same decline you wrote about but I've also (until now) not seen anything from you. If you want to engage people in riveting and thought provoking conversation that also appeals to your superior intellect - start your own thread - it's far easier than to whine about it.

Over my time on this site, I have made over 70 original posts, several thousand comments, and hundreds of responses. Obviously, you are not speaking from knowledge. Why do you choose to be derogatory?
Well, the garden dialogue seems to be doing just fine. No lack of intelligent interaction that I can see.

Please. You entirely misinterpret almost entirely what I said. I have responded to thousands of posts, and have given hundreds of responses. I have found many intelligent, thoughtful, funny, insightful, and caring posts over the 9 months and intend to keep doing so. But, there are dull days on this site, and several of them have occurred recently. That was all that I said and meant. I see no reason to apologize for that.
@wordywalt "over the 9 months" .....and there it is...again. That little dig to make sure everyone knows you were among the originals. Yes. We know. We have heard it over and over and over and over again. The problem is..that you can't even see that you (and others) do it.
@SkotlandSkye NO! I was simply responding to the false and negative intentions you attributed to me. Why are you exhibiting such hostility?
@wordywalt Because at least once a week, some person who joined prior to Jan. 1st 2018 complains about all the "new people", "too many groups", "lack of good posts", that it's "not like it used to be", on and on.
There is a clique mentality here and it definitely starts with the people who have set themselves apart and above because their join dates just happen to precede others by the arbitrary cut-off of Midnight December 31, 2017.
They even have their own group (which, if you want to complain about the site not being like the good old days in 2017, why don't you complain in there?)
It's getting boring, redundant, and insulting.

Don't know when they started advertising, but I came here through a Facebook ad. If they just started advertising, probably going to see a general increase.
