What are your opinions on hypnotism? Is it scientifically proven? What do you think actually happens to the person in the state of hypnosis?
No doubt people can be hypnotized, No doubt however I do not believe total control of someone is possible unless the person under hypnosis is exceptionally insecure and needs to comply.. This is where the true soul, or inner self takes control
Ever notice how everyone that gets the jesus forehead hand , they all fall backwards, it is what is expected,
The ONLY method I would trust is doing it to me and thankfully there is video there..
Now I need to trust what the video shows and this could go on and on, No, I believe not on the total control thing but possible on simple influence
Thank you for the comment
I have not seen a single paper in a respectable journal about hypnotism being "real". Some articles I came across generally tend to have very small numbers of subjects, and no ti inadequate control groups. I haven't come across a proof of it being better than placebo, for example. In my opinion, whether hypnotism works or not on an individual, has a lot to do with how easily influenced this person it is; what kind of imagination he/she has, are they taking any psychotropics, etc. I would put hypnosis in the same category as meditation, perhaps: state of mindfulness, deep reflection into oneself.
Yes. True. Suggestibility has lot to do with hypnotism. Thanks for the comment.
Having big fluctuation in his size my dad tried every diet imaginable. Desperate my father tried hypnotism to lose weight. It did not work period.
Thank you for the comment. Good to hear your point of views.
Hypnosis uses a person's natural tendency to enter a trance state. It is used for some proceedures instead of anesthesia. It has been some time since I did any training but it has been scientifically studied
Thank you. Can you share the studies, if you have?
@Srijith I took a basic course offered by the AMerican SOciety of Clinical Hypnosis about 25 years ago and did not pursue it further. THey have a website and if you do a google search you can see if they or the analagous British organization have any online articles that do not require subscription
