I'm sure I didn't make this up because it is too smart, but some years ago I came across this sage idea. "To be more tolerant creates resistance and tension. Better to become less intolerant as this develops understanding." If anyone knows where this came from please let me know

I think you got the quote wrong, or else the original is wrong.

I can't find a source for this, but it makes a good point. Recognizing the intolerance within yourself and rooting it out is how you become more tolerant. Simply tolerating others is not the same as truly embracing them.

Yes. I've heard this. It's so many people block me on here. Because I confront people. Especially those pushing the alt right agenda.
