Not only is it not a proud record, I think more and more that we no longer live in a democracy - it seems more like a plutocracy: we do not have a majority government, Cameron had to make a coalition to remain in office and your piece is a stark reminder that if you are not wealthy the government doesn't care one bit. I can't remember the words that Theresa May used when she took office but I seem to recall the gist was that the future would be for the less well off as much as for those with money. The question I have to ask is, with this rotten record of miserable policies obvious to all, why were the Labour party not able to beat them last year at the General Election?
