I came across the movie Hacksaw Ridge yesterday on the free HBO weekend. I've been wanting to see it but didn't realize what it was really about. Caught about the last half and the hero of the movie was a very religious man who wouldn't carry a gun or fight, but he rescued a bunch of fellow soldiers during this horrific battle. But he attributed it all to God's doing. Every time he'd say, "One more god. Help me get one more." I'd say; "God had nothing to do with it".
Not to belittle a man's religion but he(IMO) was attributing his amazing heroism to something that wasn't even there. Anyway, kind of ruined the movie for me. Anyone else seen it?
I saw it. To be honest, I wasn't really thinking too much about the religiosity when I watched it. I'm so used to it, it tends to run right off my back a lot of times.
