I've lived in a few cities across the west US they all have numerous organizations that feed or provide aid to the needy most of which are connected to some religious organization such as a Christian Church. I'm wondering what non religious/atheist organizations anyone knows of that provide such type of help, or in other areas what other churches feed the hungry, house the homeless and yknow clothes...

People seem to underst and that atheism is not an organized religion. We do not in general have brick and mortal meeting places. We do have congregations. We are instead, a conglomerate of individuals that in loose cabal to disuss our disillusionment of organized religion and other societal and personal issues. We are all of different minds, different motivations, and different leanings. Outside of blog sites like this one, there is no church of atheism, or least perhaps in some city with a local following. It's possible that at the atheist conventions that are organized throughout the nation, a request for charitable support could be voiced and presented to the partic pants in attendance. But it would a one time gesture, as there is no consistent membership roll.
