So I read in the news about the attempt to reunify families separated at the US Mexico border. AKA the illegals..
Thing is, I see no mention of those who were given to coyotes to bring their children to the USA.
Well actually paid the coyotes to bring them to the USA.
Mind you once they get here, some end up as sex slaves. In the town where I live last year they busted up a child sex slave ring. All were illegals.
They couldn't tell you where they were from, who or where their parents are, who brought them here, and so on.
And none spoke English.
So why is this issue not being addressed?
Is it not good press?
People don't want to hear it?
Too ugly for the masses?
What is your take on this?

I have spent ten years of my life living on the Mexican border. I loved my Mexican friends I cherished their wisdom and friendship. I took in a lady who had been working as a maid and was put out after working for a family for several years because she had been diagnosed with cancer. They just took her meager belongings and sit them at the street and refused to answer the door when she returned from her treatment in Mexico. After working for us for several weeks I noticed the strange lady who seemed to show up on the days that we were paying her and taking her home to get her doctors visit and visit family. I confronted this lady and made her return the money she had taken from our maid my maid relayed to me that this was a very bad lady for me to please not interfere that bad things would happen to her family if she didn't pay. I told her that my bike friends and I could handle it not to worry...But her cancer worsened and she just was beyond working, we remained in touch till her final days. This is just an example of what these people have to deal with just to survive. P.S. HELP DON"T HURT!

What's my take on it?

Criminals doing illegal and horrible things is sort of expected. They're criminals, after all. And desperate people do desperate things, like hiring smugglers to get their kids over a border, fooling themselves into believing they'll be okay.

Victimized kids, afraid to ask for help because they expect the authorities to victimize them again if they do... that's a sad and familiar story. And it's been addressed over and over. The nightly news has addressed it. CNN and NPR and PBS and even Fox have addressed it repeatedly. (Although Fox generally blames the kids, but let's not get into that.)

What's new, lately, is the government itself taking families apart, instead of human traffickers doing it. I sense your post is some oblique reference to this being a big story, while you think the other is being ignored.

Well, it should be big news when our government does a heinous thing. Don't you agree?
