Just a long-winded way of saying that there is no extrinsic meaning or purpose, but you can find plenty of intrinsic meaning and purpose. Meaning is not bestowed from on high, it's conjured from within.

We all want to know the meaning of our lives. I just don't think we will find it in the bible.

Any meaning to life is nothing more than what one makes of it for themselves.
