I dislike Dr. Phil. I think he 's shallow and I know he has violated HIPAA regulations more than once. That being said, the one thing I've taken from Dr. Phil that I apply to my life is this. Ask yourself, "How is that working for you?" I apply that to relationships, jobs, projects, and stuff. If it isn't working for you, what can you do about it? What can you do to make it better?

This is pragmatism in a nutshell. Great stuff.

@HippieChick58 I quite agree with you. When I hear him says things to people like, "What you've gotta do... Is this ... And that..." I flinch. I'm not a mental health professional but I doubt what he does is serious mental health care practice.

Joe Rogan has a bit about him, it's solid gold.

"My shoes are slippery, I ain't running after nobody." ????

@HippieChick I've never been a Dr.Phil fan either. He's too self rightgeous. If it isn't working you need to change something.

I can not stand this annoying guy and his smug know it all attitude

I agree. Just living with a problem is harmful to one's mental and physical health. Acknowledging that there is a problem and doing something to solve it is the only healthy scourse of action.

I don't like that he talks down to people, but there are not too many people that don't.
