Laid up for the next 24 hours...
So long story short, I had to climb up to a high place at work today and then, getting back down, missed my footing. All 270 pounds of me landed on one foot, from 5 feet in the air. Then, adding injury to injury, the ankle twisted and rolled as I stumbled backwards, desperately trying not to fall and crack my favorite head on the metal lockers or desk behind me. Or the concrete floor.
2 hours in the emergency room. Non specific ligament sprain. So I have a balloon splint on my ankle and a 3 day weekend. Ordered to elevate the foot, ice pack and rest.
But nothing is keeping me from my plans for Friday. NOTHING.
Glad to see you havenβt sprained your typing fingers! My commiserations on your fall. Iβve been there as I fell 6ft from a ladder at work a number of years ago. I now have a bit of a dodgy knee as I came down pretty hard on it. However, you will mend in time no doubt, as I did. You will have all the more time to post messages on site here. I am sure whatever you have planned for Friday will still go to plan!
Ouch! Follow your doctor's advice and have Friday on Monday if you have to.
Back to work Sunday for me. The window of opportunity must be seized.
@RavenCT There wasn't a ladder. That was the problem.
I was searching a prison cell for contraband and had to improvise with a chair to get onto the top bunk. Same thing I've done.... 19 years, 5 days a week, subtract vacations, at least once a day... I can't do the math... well over 7000 times at a guess. First time this has happened.
What's going on Friday? Hope you recover quickly!!
Date
with someone I've been talking to for hours and texting all week. I have keen anticipation.
Thank you, Jen.
@Paul4747 I hope you are able to attend and also engage and enjoy your date! I know I wouldn't let such an injury stop me from being there!
@JenBeberstein No worries. I'll definitely be there. And if there are any activities afterwords... if I should be so incredibly lucky... well, my ankle will just have to man up and take it.
