Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.
We have pushed Death away from Life, the dying away from the living - all in order to impose the illusion of control on the uncertainty of change. We have lost touch with the natural world and with our place in it as mortal animals. We have forgotten "how to die."
For every beast, dragon, war and Empire that raises and falls. Their dead bodies will be replace by green grass and among the grass, Grass Hoppers will be making love
Make love not war
Do your good and peace before the world is over. People have often wondered, what have I done or not done if I die. I have no Regrets for the pass only what I do not do in the future. Have no fear of death because I know how to live, just don't want to be there when it happens.
Death is more universal than life; Everyone dies but not everyone lives. Do the Religious fear death more than life?
I doubt very much that we all have done all of this that you describe and I for one don't mind dying - I mind living at the moment because the world seems to have gone crazier than I ever remember it but death - bring it on when its my time I won't fight it - I have enjoyed my life done a lot of things and cared about many people - dead is dead as far as I am concerned and I think I probably fear the pain but then - so what!
Yes, these are hard time, I'm optimistic they will get better. We are lucky if we are just miserable, we could be in the horrible category. No eyes, no legs, or worst of all no mind.
Nothing against you, but I hate that saying. "Everyone dies, but not everyone lives."
I know this isn't really the main message in your post, but it's so arrogant to think that others lives have less meaning because they don't do the things that others deem worthy of a life lived. It's almost like the people who get married and have kids and look down on those who don't. Who is to say someone isn't happy not having traveled or climbing a mountain or going to parties or "insert the blank" here?
I don't see myself any better or worst than the next guy.
Although there is high energy and low energy people. When people have work ethics and who are stronger for loving people and things. They have a better chance for more happiness and less suffering . Vs People of low energy like criminals, serious handicapped, situation of war torren countries and etc . Religion feel to me it dose more harm than good and a form of addiction when extreme causing suffering. Religious heirachary system merging politicans and military creating too much inequalities and poverty suffering.
When God is on their side they feel superior, not me.
If I had only 5 minutes to live, I would want to live every last second of it with a smile.
My wonderful Aunt MaryElizabeth was certainly the best, most loving, kind, charitable woman who ever lived. At the end of her life, I held her hand and told her all would be well. She was crying and she said "I'm afraid I'm going to hell!" THIS after whatever they call the ''blessing of the sick'' or ''last rites''. So, yes...the ''godly'' are controlled by fear. If you reject religion and believe you're just another life form....what's to fear?
It's really is sad, that Christianity is based on fear. You must fear God and fear hell.
Most of the sin are fornicators related. I suspect if hell is real, it should be a hot night club with most of my loves ones there.
@Castlepaloma I suppose...although, since it's HELL, they probably only serve water. Maybe QUININE water....
I don't understand someone prepares their entire life to go to heaven or they will go to hell. Makes life less meaningful during time on earth or living in the now less important..
