Australian politics copied from the world role models?

It has just been revealed that a candidate in an upcoming election wrote the following on her facebook page six years ago. They have been deleted from Labor candidate Ms Husar’s account.

In one of the posts, she wrote that “politicians, I want to be one, you can lie, steal, cheat and use other people’s money to go on holidays – the best job in the world”.

Fairfax Media says another post, which features a personal attack on Penrith MP Stuart Ayres and his now wife, Defence Minister Marise Payne, cannot be printed.

Fascinating honesty. She now claims that she has taking the womanly option and "changed her mind".

Who or what do you think has influenced her original opininion, her current one and what do you think she will do if elected?

Sounds like something I might have written a dozen times, as sarcasm or satire. If I were ever to run for office, how much of what I write as humor could be dredged up and taken out of context?

Maybe she doesn't think people have a sense of humor. Maybe she just doesn't have the character to come clean and say "I wrote it, I thought it was funny, can we move on?"

This is why I don't have Facebook. 😉

Thank you for responding. I suggest however that many no longer have a sense of humour as you put it.
This literal interpretation is what has become normalacy here in Australia following exposure to many situations such as "weapons of mass destruction", "9/11", "Las Vegas", "Waco", "Georgetown", "Israel's defence", "Clinton's non sexual behaviour" all at the expense of innocent people's lives. We are fed up off such stupidity and continuous lies, deceit and corruption.
In my opinion people like this are like flags blowing in the breeze - they will point in the direction that the wind has swung them to, their decisions not based upon what is best for humanity or even the local citizenry but on what the rulers of their political party dictate should be the politically correct thinking of the moment.
I presume that when you write your satire or humour it is identified as such and for entertainment not as was the case here where there is ultimate intention to garner favour from potential voters but not the wit to foresee the harm that can be attached to such remarks.
