I'm still not sure I'm getting old , but my son sure is. Boy's pushing 30.

I'm always having that realization. I've learned that I get scuffed up easily and am slow to heal, but I haven't learned to stop doing the stupid (fun?) things that scuff me up. Full steam ahead!

When both my parents died in 2008, and I realized that my generation is next in line to go.

When I was 36 I learned that 36 was the median age of the population. That meant that half the population was younger than I was. That kinda made me feel old. But now at 47 I am in better shape and am stronger and healthier. I feel sort of younger because I can do what some of my younger friends and colleagues aren't capable of doing.

I don't know when that might be.

I do know, if you're going to lie about your age, it's better to say you're older than younger.

When I tell people I'm 70, they think I look GREAT!!

ive never lied about my age 52 btw

@weeman
I guess that makes me older than you.

@Athena indeed but im probably way less smart than you

On Nov. 12th, 2010, when I was 46. My dad died on the 11th. After that I felt old for a very long time. Waking up on the morning and staring at my reflection in the mirror with no energy in my body, I finally began to understand what getting old was. I no longer felt like I had the unlimited energy of youth.

sad dude hope you got over it

i watched my grandma die and my dad nothing in life prepares you for that

@weeman Thanks. Yes, I did get over it eventually. Well, I didn't get over being old, but not many people do! 🙂

You are very right that nothing can prepare you for watching a loved one die. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, and #2 is not even close.

I started getting old the day i was born; some say i was born old. LLOL But i've always believed that time is nothing but an artificial human construct. So as far as i know, i haven't arrived there yet, since i feel no different inside than i did 20 years ago.

Even though I just turned 72, i'm not sure that i'll recognize becoming old when i get there so i hope someone tells me. I do get a senior's discount, my hair is gray on the sides and non-existent on top, by midnight i'm ready for bed, and my lungs and knees struggle cycling up those steep coastal hills surrounding me; is that being old?

What am i supposed to be looking for? 🤣

When I noticed that a majority of the people I met were younger than myself. I'm 70 and have slowed down somewhat. Out hunting with my boys I struggle to keep up with them instead of them trying to keep up with me.Get tuckered out sooner and gotta rest more often. I live in the country and it's good to be alive.

Just now, when, after spraining my left ankle last week, I somehow pulled my right leg today. And all I've done is walk to the laundry room and back. ffs 😟

I'll let you know when I realize it. Meanwhile don't remind people that they're going to experience the horrible, miserable, painful truth soon enough.

lifes tough but enjoyable 😛

For me it was this year. A few more new aches, and a gray eyebrow hair I have to keep plucking. Not to mention the extra hair everywhere. ?

lol good luck

You are not old, just more experienced.

hah brilliant thank you 👍

@weeman You are welcome.

It is my goal in life to never grow up so, I don't plan on getting old until after my death.

good plan inherently flawed but fuck it go for it

@weeman It has worked for the first 63 don't see the need to change.

@HeathenFarmer each to their own whatever works for you man and good luck 😛

well my plan of aging in reverse is failing thus far. Curious how yours goes 😉

@Qualia An adjustment of attitude maybe necessary.
