Outside on a smoke break, a homeless man drunk out of his mind walked up to me ranting and raving about why doesn't god help anybody. Why do good things happen to bad people and why do bad things happen to good people? I let him go on for a while... then I asked him, "Do you want to know the secret?"
Him: Yes, I do.
Me: God is powerless. All good and all evil comes from man. Why is it that when a person does bad, we blame the person? But, when a person does good, we give credit to god?
Him: But, it's about where it came from. They say that if you do good it's because you are living a Christian life and are a holy vessel for good works.
Me: That's a crock of shit. Listen... if I choose to do good, then I made that choice. If I choose to do bad, then I made that choice as well. However, god didn't make any choices at all. You know what that means?
Him: What?
Me: It means that I am more powerful than god.
Him: (whispering) Woah... you just took me to a place I never been.
Me: Sleep on it brother... tomorrow you come into your own power.
