Sometimes there are simply no words to describe what you read in the news...

I hope he is found and prosecuted.

I was attacked walking home from a friend's one night... there were two women sitting in their car facing my direction, less than 1/2 block away. When I ran up to ask them to call the cops, one said to the other: "Don't get involved!"

I had already punched the attacker in the face after he ran up behind me, grabbed me between the legs, as well as grabbing my shoulder and trying to throw me down. He then ran off. I was so angry that I started to run after him before I realized I should probably call the police to see if they could pick up this jerk.

It's a good idea for vulnerable people to learn self-defense. I took a class years ago, but feel I should take a refresher course.

Absolutely shocking that two women refused to do anything to help you!

@Jnei I'm not surprised now, but I was at the time.

We have to report every incident. It is time men stopped behaving like spoilt children and assuming they can do whatever they want.

They need to get this asshole..If this happened here he would be beaten up by males in the street.

I wish that were true; unfortunately, France is not the only part of the world where people can be attacked and others around them choose to look the other way.

@Jnei I have seen it happen here..fortunately good men invariably intervene straight away..including myself.

@Jnei Then again I'm 6ft 4..and it's much easier when you are a large strong male.

@Hitchens We need more like you.

@Jnei I believe there are many many many just the same as me.. I won't stand to see a woman assaulted or even threatened..children either of course..I think I saw my father intervene so many times..(He was a high ranking policeman)..all my brothers are the same..he was a cold distant father..but at least he did teach us to defend the weaker of society.

No he wouldn't. People assume the woman must have done something to provoke the mans ire and walk right past. I've experienced this first hand.

@OpposingOpposum Me too. "There are two sides to every story... who knows what she's done... probably just a quarrel, all couples have them... I'm sure it won't go any further than an argument..." Next thing you know, a woman's having her broken jaw fixed up and telling the doctor she needs to be less clumsy walking down the stairs.

@Hitchens did you read the story of two college kids defending two Muslim girls on a train in Portland they wound up getting stabbed

@squiggy_70

Yes..it was horrendous..

@Jnei I've been dragged by the collar by a man I didn't know(no minor feat as I'm not petite) and no one did anything. I got myself loose.

@OpposingOpposum i got punched in the head. nobody did anything

@squiggy_70 this idea that some white night will ride up and save us and therefore we don't need legislation is really troublesome.
