There's a gentleman who shops at Trader Joe's on Mondays...same day I'm there. He's probably seen 50...looks good...wears cuff links, beautiful shoes, a 3-piece suit and well-chosen colors. I ALWAYS thank him for looking so fine!
And he looks forward for every Monday to do his shopping. Age do not define you or who you are. It is you... and age will only validates you as a true self that will not bow to the years in defeat. It is up to me to show my son, the young dancer that at my age he will still be doing what he likes to do now and loves so much. That's my Legacy for him to see. "Dress for the Ladies and the Ladies will Undress for you!!!" Thank You and compliment the gentleman one day... you will make his week.
@GipsyOfNewSpain Thanks! His eyes always twinkle when I thank him and tell him that's my ''favorite shirt'' or color, etc. We never know how one kind word from us will make someone's day.
@LucyLoohoo I can tell you, that is how he starts the week. With a Lady making him aware... he is still trying because he is still relevant. From all Players of past generations.... Thank You.
@GipsyOfNewSpain Awwww....he makes me smile when I see him and I tell him that every time! I imagine his mom teaching him to look ''well put out there''...she did a good job!
You bring up a good point though...my father-in-law ALWAYS wore a sport coat/tie because he thought it made him look as if he still MATTERED to the world. (Being relevant.) You're right!
@LucyLoohoo You are only Done when you gave up. I have to Rise again one more time... settle me a new home, new place to teach my kids... Nobody but you has the last word about you.
Nice collection of very quality shoes! I am sure you look fabulous when you are out and about!! Good taste I might add.
Thank You My Friend.
I love shoes, but my wallet doesn't and neither do my feet. Extra-wides, plus pain from neuropathy. Finally found a comfortable, affordable, and pretty pair of dress shoes and I cried when I put them on.
I know that feeling... shoe store often enough only bring half sizes until 11, from 11 go to 12, 13, etc. Used to be 11 1/2 and couldn't find my shoes!!! Used to drive me crazy. Also like ties, got a bunch in storage in Jacksonville and Maryland. Only thing I buy online now is shoes. I pay a ridiculous price but of all decadent ways I can throw money away... dressing up for the Ladies in the Disco on 1974 was already a lesson learned on this guy that during the day wore hindu tunics, jeans and tennis shoes along with his big afro, at night, my scholarship money went to Pierre Cardin, Givenchi, Yves St Laurent... this former Communist was already on the Saturday Night Fever trend before the movie. Everything been for the ladies. I know is shallow and decadent. I am not into fast cars, a fancy lonely house, golfing, guns or gambling but I could be fun while being a gentleman for any lady not taking me to a trump rally. My dad was a suit and tie dresser and my mother telling me your father was the only man I ever knew in NYC winter with 5 different coats to match his suits and shoes. So I got it in me on my DNA. All my uncles were suit/ties guys per photos from back in the day. Today, hawaiian, tropical shirts are my fancy, more suits to purchase and to bring from Maryland and Florida. Just because you get old you don't stop being a Ladies Man, even when no Ladies around you... What you do? You seek, until your Holy Grail shows up and you look her at the eyes and tell her. . I HAD BEEN TRAINING ALL MY LIFE TO SERVE YOU THIS DAY AS YOU WISH! ...and not never been a waiter.
@GipsyOfNewSpain And you SLIIIIIIIIIDE right into their hearts?
I don't spend very much money. That is why I have money in the first place. Money is simply a medium of exchange. However, I have all that I want and your pic looks like my ex's shoe collection.
Exactly, you die and your money will move to somebody else expense account. To be expended... Don't mind asking you... What are you saving money for? The Rapture? Drink the Best Wine, Buy the best Suit.... Dance in the Best Shoes. Live a little while you can... YOU CAN'T TAKE MONEY WITH YOU WHEN YOU DIE! If saved money is the best you can offer to a woman? She is not my type of woman... Your Envy proves my point... you got nothing to show for... Me and your Ex will get along fine. In the meanwhile all you can do is talk about your money. It is not your money what is important in life.... is what you do with your money what is important. You arw doing nothing... I hate to teach someone older than me how to live.... Damn it!
@GipsyOfNewSpain I am doing what I want to do. I do not envy and I only worry about money in the sense that spending it all means I am broke. A friend of mine said he hadn't had a good beer in almost 2 months and he makes the same money as I do. I laughed and told him I had just had 4 pints of English Pub Ale. I'm not rich but I do not understand broke people and I also do not want to understand them. Conservative with my money but liberal in politics.
@DenoPenno I can understand the poor that is broke because do not make enough money to support his family. Also understand the poor that is broke because drives a car that can not afford. For you to say.... "I can not understand broke people" is very eliteist of you, normally the rich is the only one that can not understand how people are poor, how people are broke. So you instead of inviting your friend to some Ale what you do? You go behind his back and put him down here. And you still call him a friend? Tsk, tsk, tsk.
@GipsyOfNewSpain I've known the man for over 50 years and he is a moron. I'm serious. BTW, I am not a rich man. I have social security and I work 3 hours a day. It's just that I know how to manage my money. This guy makes more than I do.
As for going behind this guys back and putting him down, I ran him off and cussed him like a dog when he told me immigrants should be shot and killed as they cross our border. He denies it but he has to be one of Trump's own.
I have to say that you have very good taste in shoes...I do notice men's shoes...they are understated, expensive, good quality, and quite fashionable...wow...I am impressed ...my favorite are the 4th pair from the front...the tri-tone
Wore then Saturday night, went Salsa Dancing. Thank You, some men in this site don't understand what Women want, what they look for. Not all women will care what I wear... but those who notice, are the kind of woman I will be looking for. Those who tell me in honesty... get a haircut, lose 5 pounds, not gain 10... come over here sit next to me... hold my hand. Romance starts from the ground up and I love being decadent to the right woman! Thank You for Validating me.
@GipsyOfNewSpain You salsa? SWOON!!! A man who takes care and pride in himself is one that will do the same for the women in his life.
@thinktwice Of course my dear... there always been a rumor in the family, my mother danced once a mambo with Marlon Brando back in the days when he wasn't a movie star and hung around in clubs like Latin Quarters and Palladium in NYC. I don't do fantasy, but to go in time will be back to those days and to have a dance with my mother and watch from a distance my parents dance. I went last weekend dancing with my son... he watches every move I make. When he is on the floor I watches his every move. He dances for a salsa company. He is the best dancer in the family now and about all cousins, uncles, nieces, aunts... those are Serious Braging Rights in a Latino Family. I can die happy now. Thank You, you will be included in my weekend prayers.
Where’s yur diversity..? Shoes for: walking back roads, driving, hiking, skateboarding, lawn mowing, construction/ destruction, dewy mornings, snow … the other things in life
You missed the title "My Murderer's Row". Ladies don't need to see "My Joe Spade Bag" unless I am doing their yard and before that happens... First things first.
Damn! You got swag Gypsy!
I don't lie, I don't kid. Thanks... so you know I am trying to impress someone in specific.
@GipsyOfNewSpain well hopefully they have a wing tip fetish or appreciate a man with swagger! ??
@AdorkableMe Bingo!
While your ten shoes are definitely more expensive than mine , when I began having painful problems with my feet and realized it was because mine didn't have proper arch support , I bundled up a hundred pair and took them to a resale shop .
No need to go there... you use your money in what you want. I don't use a penny on makeup. Or do resale but thanks for the tip.... by now I expected you to know how to buy shoes.
@GipsyOfNewSpain Me either . Can't stand wearing the stuff . Makes my skin itch . Absolutely no one would be impressed by the shoes I wear , but my feet are happy .
@Cast1es Find the right ones, get dancers shoes, you can float in them. A lot of people develop swollen feet after mature age. That's life but there is always more than one solution to any problem. About the itch if is alergy to leather or whatever it is find the silver bullet. Feet are first thing an athlete loses and in life we are all athletes. You need your feet to be happy.
They look good quality! Nice taste.
Thank You. They are. You got good eye.
