What are your plans for the rest of the summer?
Finish chemotherapy for my stage four lymphoma. That should finish-off the summer for me.
@sweetcharlotte My last CT scan showed that the masses on my kidneys, urethras, etc. have shrunk to about 1/2 the size they were in the first CT scan. I still have some lymph nodes that are enlarged. Although the CT scan indicates improvement, at 75 with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc., I consider my chances for an ideal recovery slim at best. But then, being 75 and a high-functioning Asperger's Syndrome person, I do not get emotional over the thought of checking out...I have always known that I had to be born to get here and had to die to leave. So be it.
@sweetcharlotte I really do not need more time...I have had 75 years (note that I am a high functioning Asperger's Syndrome person...it should help to understand my blahzay attitude), and cannot complain. Expressions of sympathy should be reserved for those with cancer who are younger (way more to lose than me), and who are more desperate to continue living. As long as I am not in pain (I am not), I am content with my lot in life.
Start a death metal cover band that covers nothing but ABBA and Bay City Rollers.
You need to tag me with recordings whenever that happens.
My annual leave starts today..so will be on vacation for 2 weeks..the weather is so good that we will be holidaying in Ireland.
As for the rest of the summer..selling our home in the sticks..and finding a great home in the capital.
Enjoy your family time and have fun. What is taking you to the city? Work?
@BeeHappy Hey there, so..there are a few reasons that inspired us to make the move.
Most of our relatives on both sides live in South Dublin, this includes all four of our elderly parents two of whom are in their 90's. We need to be closer to both visit and help out with them.
Secondly since we are both working parents our two little girls will get more support from family members in terms of school runs..and relief when they are feeling poorly..and need time off school...at the moment we have to take time off work to care for them as we don't have relatives out here.
Fortunately the girls have both done well academically so far..and we want to take advantage of the great private schools that offer extra curricular activities and lessons. They have been accepted in principal to an amazing Hogwarts like school..so we are delighted.
There are other reasons but those are the main ones..its all very stressful and exciting at the same time..???
Getting finished with my cancer treatment, them hopefully off to Maine before it gets too cold.
Spending a week at the beach...getting the house and business ready for sale...decluttering and minimizing my stuff...make a few quilts for new babies to be born...working out like crazy...campaigning and fundraising for the 2018 elections...sleep when I can
Recovering from surgery for a torn quadriceps tendon. 5 1/2 more weeks in a leg immobilizing brace.
Stay cool and healthy and try to have fun in whatever I do. Simple.
Whine whine whine I broke my foot so my plans have been made for me I cannot put any weight on my foot for 3 months so I get to indulge myself in a little exercise in patience
Sorry to hear that. Get well soon
@UrsiMajor thanks I appreciate it
Work, get my summer reading done (nothing like leaving it until the last minute) for fall semester, take care of disabled dad, and finish training my two pups for dock diving. It's pretty boring. But then, I tend to stay away from anything touristy or fun in the summer months here. Too many tourists and it's too bloody hot! I have a late August beach wedding to look forward to, though! (my brother)
Stay inside in the air conditioning. Living in Tucson limits outdoor fun.
Florida here, and I hear ya.
Visit the Beach as much as possible ?
Which beach?
