Watching Deep impact once more time. I get a kick out of the scene where the bring in Male and female of each species. Not viable to repopulate any species.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I used to know the minimum viables for a few species, and some are actually quite high. pretty sure bugs might be the only ones you could get away with two. maybe some fish, never really studied the ocean life and things like inbreeding effects in those animals.

That movie was supposed to be a remake of When Worlds Collide when it was in the planning stages. But instead of making an updated version of one of the funnest sci-fi B films of all time, they wound up doing a lousy retread of Armaggedon. Leave it up to Hollywood to start out with a great idea and find a thousand ways to turn it to shit.
