The Florida red tide that is causing the deaths of the fish is, on Facebook, being called an 'act of god' and proof of the 'end times' by some of the people posting. Matt Devitt WINK Weather added 27 new photos. (not sure if the link works or not). For those of you who are unfamiliar with the disaster, it needs folks to know about it. Is the big dude in the sky striking down the manatees? Or could it be a man-made disaster. Hmmm.

The level of this event is unprecedented. Red tides are to be expected, but this is unbelievable. I lived in Fort Myers for three years, and people are more concerned than I've ever seen. It's upsetting. Big Sugar has wrecked practically the entire southern end of the state.

This particular red tide is a naturally occurring phenomenon. Let's get that out of the way. Whether it is being prolonged by man, it's been happening way before things like industrial runoff existed.

But fish dying all along the gulf coast isn't freakin' new or particular to this red tide. This isn't the first time this year people have been warned to stay away from gulf beaches because of dangerous amounts of whatever in the water. THAT comes back to pollution, including in and around Okeechobee.

Why people need to attach divinity to MN's natural recycling process?

It's not like red tide is new.
