Kirk. A thousand times, Kirk. I will alway vote for the person cutting trail for all the "Johnny/Jeannie come latelys".

It's a tie between Picard and Janeway.

That guy in the middle.

@Ostopal I know. My favorite series. Although I'm definitely looking Discovery so far (Cue the wailing and gnashing of teeth).

@Ostopal Star Trek Discovery just finished it's first season on CBS All Access. If you don't feel like paying for a subscription, it releases to Blu-ray in the fall.
Admittedly, it's not everyone's cup, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm excited for season 2. I personally think that a lot of Trek fans that hate it so much do so because it's very different than the Trek they're used to, but the Trek they're used to is 30 to 50 years old. I wouldn't expect them to make the same thing they made decades ago, so to me it's not an apt comparison.

My favorite is the brother of a vintner.

My favorite was Picard. It seemed like he was actually exploring during that whole "5-year mission" thing.
Kirk's 5 year mission was just trawling for sex with aliens.
Cisco wasn't even a captain and his character was essentially the night manager of an intergalactic 7-11.
Janeway's 5-year mission was to find out where she left her home planet, as if it were an embarrassing matter of not being able to find her car keys.
Captain Archer was simply forgetable
