OH MY GOODNESS! I had no idea how much work kittens are. I'm trying to get a set of 4 kittens adopted and arrange a new living situation for their pregnant mom. Yes, she got pregnant soon after giving birth to this litter, which she had in the wild. We don't want her back out on the streets giving birth outside where she could get pregnant yet again, and we can't keep her since we already have a dog and a cat (that is not too happy about all these other cats in the home). This has been time consuming especially since I know NOTHING about pregnant cats and how to deal with this situation - like when she gives birth. I'm desperate for help. Any suggestions? The local Humane Society (no kill shelter) will take the kittens, but the mom? Pregnant? What do I do?
no good deed goes unpunished eh cats are fairly self reliant when giving birth just a place she feels safe cupboard or basket would do keeep the other animals away during birth you probably won't even know till its over after see if the shelter does free spaying good luck
So sad. We have a cat that has a deviated diaphragm and the vet won't fix her, so we have the same problem, a multitude of kittens.
You can't keep her in the house?
@Carin when was the last time you confined a cat in heat. She tore up the place.
@confidentrealm Huh. Ours didn't do that. Ours just made a lot of noise.
@Carin ours tore up the carpet trying to get out the door
