I get that at 61 I am not making any fashion statements. I work remotely and went into the office today and a male colleague about 30 or so was wearing these faux cheetah skin athletic shoes. . It's all fine. I am just curious he views himself as a New York male model kind of fellow. I am just a bit surprised this would be considered fashionable. What is the marketing message?

I like them. Good for him. I think men need to have more options when it comes to fashion. They have been 'stunted' for way too long. 😀

I have learned a lot from this post. I am an old fuddy fuddy. Duly noted. That was informative.

@Bigwavedave I think old fuddy duddies are under-rated. 😀

@patchoullijulie I had one person kind of accuse me of being judgemental. I honestly understood how limitedmy viewpoint was.

@Bigwavedave I think the fact that you are questioning your post doesn't make you limited at all.

@patchoullijulie thank you. . Lol I blocked them . I really did want people thoughts and didt want any personal attacks. I love this sight to get real perspective. We all live in little enclaves. I don't wish to be un exposed

I like the foot gear. My shoes tend to be boring, except for the red
faux-suede dominatrix boots in the back of the closet.

@Gwendolyn2018 a.k.a. super hero/villain boots 😉

Those shoes tell me "I would not have survived as a hunter in the time of our ancestors, but I can pretend."

One of the perks of living in Thailand is the constant eye banquet of beautiful, glittering clothing, and also Buddhist temples, everywhere. I want to photograph most of the people I see, but stick to close friends, so I don't insult anyone.

Even the Muslims have jaw-dropping clothing..SOOO beautiful, and I seldom see any shoes that are alike, except on men.

I wear black New Balance shoes with special inserts for a diabetic. Any other shoes and I can't wear them for long. My feet get to tingling like they are asleep.

Each to their own, but I doubt I'll ever wear animal print by choice, I have a socks with it on, but they were in packs with normal ones too 😉 Vivre la difference lols.

I'm also not a fan of animal prints.

Those are hideous, in my opinion. But everyone has their own taste.

I think it's cool. Men put so many restrictions on what they'll wear. Blows my mind.
I'll never forget the year, it was summer 2009 when on a lark I got my late dh a nice pair of leather sandals, knowing full well his thoughts on them.
He'd previously ALWAYS been "allergic" to wearing anything but work boots, even in shorts.
"These are nice" he says...
He wore them from then on in the heat, a freer, more comfortable man.

I know an old guy with nice legs who won't wear shorts, much less sandals...in 100F, eleventy billion percent humidity. He insists on slogging around in full heavy jeans in his manliness. smh

Be comfortable, have fun guys. Life is short and then you're dead.

To this another lifetime ago I had one of those boyfriends who was so very self assured he'd wear a pink or purple shirt anywhere. He wasn't less masculine to me for it, in fact more so, super confident person. He was also a lot of fun.

I hear that. I guess I am old. It took me forever to wear sandals in summer. I appreciated everyone's thoughts, lol. I still wouldn't wear them, I would feel silly.

@Bigwavedave You would totally rock these I'm certain!
I find men who have a sense of humor & are freer about stuff like this are lady magnets. No matter your age!
Hey I was seeing a 65 y.o, so you've got some catching up to do. 😉

@Qualia lol thank you you made me smile

Living in Long Beach, California my usual attire for 360+ days per year is is an unbuttoned Hawaiian print shirt over a T-shirt (with one of my original graphics on it), Cargo shorts, and sandals with white socks.

If anybody doesn't like it, that's their problem.

In case you are wondering, my concession to winter here is a single layer nylon windbreaker. If it's really "cold" and I'm riding my bicycle late at night I will actually zip up the windbreaker and put on my gloves.

Are they men’s? I would wear them!

Lol hmm well they are man size nikes..so check it out!

I don't understand why people have to comment on other people's clothing choices

Animal prints are in this year...and most years...it is a classic...fun and interesting...the new sketchers street are cool this year as well...he is definitely up on his fashion as a young man...it is not meant for you...there are plenty of cool, classic styles, casual and easy going for men of all ages...let each generation have their fun fashions...they need something to laugh at when they get our age!! ha ha

See lol I'm old. Damn

@Bigwavedave No, you are too experienced and classy...big difference...you can still wear fun things and comfortable things, and not look ridiculous or needy...I like your look...stick to what works!

@thinktwice thanks . Just an fyi . I want judging him. The young ladies at work love him. Just mystifies me. 🙂

@Bigwavedave I know...you are not judgmental at all...I think there is difference in opinion and we don't have to all like the same shit...they are young...let them have fun...who knows what it is...we loved long hair and bell bottoms... ha ha ha
