So random question, how many people have been asked to show a receipt at Walmart? I never really thought about it but when asked I have no problems showing the receipt of purchase. Does anyone think that it violates their rights?
Happened to me once, as I & several shoppers were backed up simply leaving the store with their purchases. I wheeled over to a ‘supervisor’ overseeing it and told them, “If I have to show my receipt, I’ll never shop here again.” ...they escorted me to the door with no check.. That was the only Walmart store that ‘tried that.’
Yes, the big box stores are doing it, always pisses me off, too. But they’re some kind of a ‘membership thing,’ Walmart isn’t, it’s open to the public, and to me, this guy’s the hero. Good post.
The only time I'm asked is when I don't have items in a bag. Either they are too big for it or, if its a couple of items, I don't fuss with a bag. & no, I don't think its a violation of my rights. Now if everything is bagged & I get stopped or dragged in the back for no reason, then yeah.
I know a couple of walmarts that won't let you leave the make up department with items without paying first. I thought it was odd then figured small items...its a loss prevention tactic.
