Why would any minority trust a white person after this
screwed up President?
Forty percent of the USA is apparently racist?
I am a Native American and Mexican woman and there is some truth to the statement but I think reality is more nuanced than that. I trust lots of white folks because I know who they are and I interact with them fighting against Trump. But, I have to say, if I don't know someone personally, I am very careful around them until I know who they truly are. Because after Trump came along I was shocked and disappointed to see how many of my white 'friends' agreed with his racist bs. That makes you look at people differently. That makes you realize that the don't care what danger you are put in from these policies. But I think it has made my relationship with my true friends even closer as they get to see racism not as a theory but right up close.
Agreed! I totally feel differently about people I thought were my friends. It makes me sad.
If you can tell the character of a person by the color of their skin you are better than me. I've experienced racism as a white person, I live in an African American neighborhood. All I have to do is go to the McDonalds around the corner to experience it. Racism exists in every race.
Sweeping all people into a category based on skin color is racism.
The colour of his skin is not the problem, it is his attitude of mind. I don’t think it is helpful to bring a racial element into why Trump could be elected again. Plenty of black Americans voted for him and will probably do so again.....to bring down to a black/white issue is falling into the trap of following the racists’ agenda.
Wait a second...
Way too overgeneralized.
First off, you assume every white person voted for Trump? Is every white person descended from a Confederate General, too? Does every pale person listen to country music in the cab of a pickup truck while deer hunting?
Second thing, 60% voted against. So the odds are in your favor.
Last, a lot of the Trump vote was not a "for" Trump, it was an "against" Clinton. So, there's that to consider too. Probably only like 20% really voted "for" Trump. I pulled that number directly out of my nether regions.
Hey, once again I'm up way too late. Goodnight.
